Transportation Safety Concern and Feedback Period Update

Project Team Presenting at the Asian Tea Party, Ralph and Jenny Center, July 2026

Thank you for taking the time to provide feedback on the East Washington Quick-Build Safety Improvements Project. Over the last month we have received feedback from over 150 Somerville community members through our virtual community meeting, surveys, online public input map, stakeholder meetings, street pop-ups along the project area, and business block-walking. We will be reviewing all these comments and using them to guide designs for the next phase of this project. They will be recorded in a Community Engagement Report that will be available on the website this fall.

We have concluded the engagement period for the project and will spend the next few months analyzing the feedback collected from the community and other available data such as vehicle volume, vehicle speeds, transit delay, and parking utilization, to develop designs. The project team plans to share concept designs with the public in early 2027.

If you have any comments, please email us at transportation@somervillema.gov or call us at 617-666-3311. Subscribe to the Mobility Monthly Newsletter for project updates.
