What to Expect at Public Hearings

Three public hearings have been scheduled to provide the opportunity to give oral comment on the Draft Plan. Each public hearing will follow the same format:

  • Welcome and overview of how the hearing will work

  • Project context and instructions on how to provide public comment

  • Public comment

  • Each person will receive two minutes to share their public comment per public hearing.

  • For hybrid meetings, we will alternate between virtual and in-person commenters in groups of five.

  • Commenters will sign up at the beginning of the public hearing to share comments by raising their Zoom hand or by adding their name to a piece of paper in the room.

  • Occasional stretch breaks will be taken as needed.

* If your comments will take more than two minutes, please submit them in writing instead (or in addition). Instructions for providing written comments can be found elsewhere on this website (https://voice.somervillema.gov/joint-cso-planning). Laptops will also be available for anyone wishing to provide written comments in person at the hybrid meetings.


Note that all hearings will be recorded.
