Cummings School Parking Lot Paving (9/8-9/9), Remaining Punch List, and Project Completion

Fall is nearly here and crews are working on the ever-shortening “punch-list” of remaining construction items on the project and preparing to vacate the neighborhood.

Here’s what you can expect:

Cummings School Parking Lot Paving

As part of project wrap-up activities, crews will be paving the parking lot/basketball court at the Cummings School this upcoming Monday and Tuesday, September 8-9 between 7 a.m. and 4 p.m.

  • Some on-street parking may be restricted to facilitate paving

  • Increased truck activity on School Street will be required to deliver asphalt for paving.

Remaining Punch-list Items and Moving Toward 100% Project Completion

Since reaching substantial completion earlier this summer, crews have been working to complete remaining construction items–ensuring work is 100% complete to design specifications across the project area. This includes replacing any sidewalk panels where grades might be off, inspecting catch basins for any flow issues, ensuring all signage is installed correctly, and all required pavement markings/striping is complete.

The City’s contractor has been able to make significant progress on these items over recent weeks and we currently anticipate they will reach final completion toward the end September or early October.
