Project Update Week of 4/14 - Continued sidewalk work on lower Summer St., underground utility work on Walnut Street, and looking ahead to final paving.
Work continues on Spring Hill as crews moved toward substantial project completion at the end of June. Below is an overview of ongoing and upcoming work.

Ongoing Work
Lower Summer Street - Crews have excavated sidewalks between School Street and Putnam Street on the north/odd-numbered side of the street and expect to pour new concrete on this segment over the next two weeks (weather permitting). For more on the final plans for lower Summer Street see our previous update here.
Once that work is complete, crews will proceed east toward Bow Street.
Walnut Street - Repair and replacement of existing sewer and water utilities on Walnut Street between Bow Street and Columbus Avenue is underway. Crews are currently working at the intersection of Bow Street and Walnut Street and will move up the hill toward Columbus Avenue as work progresses.
Upcoming Work
Traffic calming installations - Beginning the week of 4/22 or soon after, paving crews will return to Spring Hill to begin some of the final traffic calming installations sitewide–including speed humps on upper Summer, raised crossing on School St. and Central Street.
Final paving sitewide - Final paving on all remaining project streets including Central Street, lower Summer Street, School Street, Oxford Street, Hersey Street, Gibbens Street, and Cambria Street is expected to take place by June of this year.
