Preliminary Paving - Tuesday, July 14, 7 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Weather permitting, this upcoming Tuesday, July 14, between 7 a.m. and 4 p.m. City contractors plan to pave a preliminary course of asphalt on Tuft Streets.

This is the first of the two paving operations planned for Tufts Street during which an initial course of asphalt will be added to the roadway. The second paving operation is expected to take place during the week of July 20th. Additional notification will be provided once that work has been scheduled.

What to Expect During Paving

• While paving is underway Tufts Street will be closed to all vehicle traffic. Please observed posted signage.
  • Both sidewalks will remain open during paving to allow pedestrian access.
  • Segments of Dell Street, Glen Street, and Morton Street will become temporarily two-way to allow for resident access while Tufts Street is closed.
• Access to driveways along Tufts Street will be restricted during paving and until the pavement has sufficiently cooled (anticipated approximately 4 p.m.)
  • If you need access to your vehicle during this time, please relocate it in advance of paving.
• Temporary on-street parking restrictions will be in place. Please observe posted signage.

Construction of raised intersections as well as roadway striping and pavement marking will follow the second paving operation and mark the substantial completion of this project.
