Tufts Street Milling and Prep for Paving, Begins, Wednesday, July 1

Beginning, tomorrow, Wednesday, July 1, City contractors plan to remove the top few layers of asphalt along Tufts Street including at the intersections of Cross Street, Dell Street, Glen Street, and Knowlton Street.

Work is expected to last through early next week. Work hours are weekdays approximately 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. All schedules are subject to change due to weather or other factors.

This work is being carried out in preparation for paving on Tufts Street expected to take place later this July. Additional notification will be provided ahead of paving.

What to Expect During This Work

• Access to local streets and access to driveways along the affected stretches of roadway will be retained for residents at all times.
  • On-site crews and police details are available to help. At times some coordination with them may be required to facilitate access.
• Elevated noise levels from construction equipment and vehicles anticipated.
• Temporary on-street parking restrictions will be in place. Please observe posted signage.
