Open House Will Showcase Updated Design for Street Safety Improvements
Mayor Katjana Ballantyne, Ward 7 Councilor Judy Pineda Neufeld, and City of Somerville staff invite you to an open house to learn about the updated design for Broadway between Clarendon Avenue and Alewife Brook Parkway and share your feedback. The event will be held on Tuesday, October 22, from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the West Somerville Neighborhood School, 177 Powder House Boulevard.
In the spring of 2024, community members shared their feedback on the concept design through range of channels, including street outreach, small group meetings, an open house, and a survey. The project team reviewed all feedback and worked to further develop the design for the street to meet the goals of enhanced safety, sustainability, and comfort.
The open house will feature multiple stations describing different aspects of the project. Drop-in anytime during the event to review the updated design and talk with project team members about your feedback and questions.
Following the event, a recorded presentation and information about the updated design will be available on this project website. Other opportunities for community members to share feedback will include an online survey (available from October 24 through November 22), virtual office hours with city staff on October 30 and November 20 from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. (virtual meeting links to come), and a street outreach pop-up planned for October 28 from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at the intersection of Broadway and North Street (weather dependent, check this webpage for updates).
