September 2025: 299 Broadway Summer update and look ahead.

Summer 2025 was several significant updates for the 299 Broadway project, which is one of the largest in Winter Hill and will introduce 319 units of housing to the neighborhood along with two new parks, retail space, and a community room. Updates from this summer include:

• The Somerville City Council approved the Urban Center Housing Tax Increment Financing (UCH-TIF) agreement for the project, which will provide tax subsidy to make the project viable.
• The Somerville City Council also approved public access easements and maintenance agreements for parks and pathways on the site, to ensure these are open to everyone and maintained to City standards. One of the parks along Sewall Street will also end up in City ownership.
• The development team took significant steps to secure financing for the project.

The project team anticipates beginning site work in October or November 2025. Stay tuned for updates regarding construction and demolition work, as well as a groundbreaking celebration.
