Read the Concept Design Community Engagement Report

From May 6 to June 15, 2026, we worked to gather feedback on the proposed concept designs for this section of Broadway from Winchester Street to Central Street including three options for the Broadway at Medford Street intersection (Magoun Square). During that time, we hosted a community open house at the Healey School, held two street outreach pop-ups, walked Broadway and Medford Street visiting small businesses, flyered the street and nearby side streets, hosted a virtual office hour and conducted a feedback survey. We also spread the word when tabling at Citywide events.

We are excited to share with you the Concept Design Community Engagement Report describing how we engaged community members and what feedback we heard. You can find a summary at the top of the report and sections that include all the direct feedback we received. We estimate that we connected with over 441 people.

We are now working to develop a more detailed design and narrow in on a direction for the Magoun intersection shaped by the feedback we gathered this spring. We anticipate sharing this updated design with you later this fall to seek more community input before we finalize the design. At that time, we will share details about more community engagement opportunities.
