Broadway Magoun Concept Design Feedback Survey

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback on the Concept Design Options for the Broadway Magoun Reconstruction project. The City is planning to redesign the section of Broadway between Winchester Street and Central Street. We are looking for your feedback to help shape the design direction. Our concept design includes:

Protected bike lanes in both directions

Floating bus stops with some locations combined to reduce delay

Raised crosswalks

Shorter crossing distances

Space for more trees, bike parking, trash cans, and benches

The City has proposed different design alternatives to rethink the Magoun Intersection (Broadway at Medford Street). Which option do you prefer?

The Roundabout removes traffic signals and turns the intersection into a roundabout shape with shorter crossing distances, raised crosswalks, a protected bicycle lane, and one motor vehicle lane. This option has the least delay for all users.

The "X” reduces the intersection to four approaches. The signal cycle is shorter. Crossing distances are shorter and there is more pedestrian space. This option provides the fewest vehicle signal phases and keeps an exclusive pedestrian phase.

The “T” splits the intersection into two. The signal cycle is shorter. Crossing distances are shorter. There is more pedestrian space. There are more vehicle phases and travel lanes, but shorter wait for pedestrians, and more separation for bikers.

I like all three options.
