Open House and Virtual Meeting: Follow Up

A huge thank you to everyone in the community who participated in our recent Davis Square Neighborhood Plan events! Whether you dropped by our in-person open house at the Crystal Ballroom or joined our virtual public meeting online, your time, creativity, and insights are invaluable to us.


What’s Next?

  • Stay Updated: The SomerVoice page, Davis Square mailing list, and the Planning Porchlight are the primary sources for information on the Davis Square Neighborhood Plan. We will send out monthly progress updates to the mailing list.

  • Community Feedback Summary: Our team is currently sorting through and analyzing all the input received across the TAC, tabling events, the Walk and Talk, the open house, and the virtual meeting. We will compile everything into a comprehensive Community Feedback Summary, which will synthesize key themes to serve as the foundation for developing our draft plan.

  • Start of Phase 3 (February) Engagement: The community will review the draft recommendations and preliminary sketch drawings.

What will the City team do between now and February?

  1. Summarize the feedback collected during engagement events.

  1. Participate in internal work sessions to develop draft recommendations based on community feedback, data on existing conditions, and the community’s vision for the future.

  1. Develop a draft implementation matrix that identifies the City department(s) and partners that will be responsible for implementing each recommendation, an estimated timeline, and potential funding sources.

  1. Create preliminary sketch drawings.

  1. Conduct additional analysis to understand the impacts and tradeoffs of the draft recommendations.

  1. Draft the report document.

  1. Prepare for the next round of engagement events.
