Davis Square Commercial Area Plan

We are creating an updated version of the Davis Square Neighborhood Plan.

Much has changed since the 2020 release of a public draft of the Davis Square neighborhood plan. New zoning was implemented, the pandemic reshaped our local economy, and several city-wide initiatives that affect Davis Square were adopted. We are incorporating those factors into the plan and expanding how the plan addresses topics such as civic spaces, outdoor dining, pedestrian and bike safety, expanded way-finding opportunities, small business support and public realm maintenance. We narrowed the focus of the Davis Square Plan to the core business area and changed the title from Davis Square Neighborhood Plan to Davis Square Commercial Area Plan to reflect its scope more accurately. We are excited about this renewed initiative and eager to share a new plan version with the community for feedback and improvements.

The internal process of updating the plan has taken longer than anticipated but is nearing completion. We now anticipate releasing a public draft for community input and review in the fall of 2023.
