On October 4, we shared the Updated Design for our Western Pearl Street Reconstruction Project. We refined the design from three design directions in October 2024, to two Concept Design Options in May 2025, to one Updated Design for October 2025. We spent the next four weeks in the fall of 2025 working to connect with community members to get final feedback before we finalize the design and prepare for construction.
We hosted a range of in-person and online outreach activities to provide options for folks to give feedback. We thank all community members who were able to talk to us at tabling events, join our open house, take our survey, or talk to us on the street for giving your time to share feedback.
We are excited to publish our final community engagement report for the design development of this project. This report describes all the outreach activities we held, and all the feedback we gathered. Our goals in this phase of the project were to build awareness of the Updated Design; to welcome and address any clarifying questions; and to confirm whether community members felt that the Updated Design met our safety objectives.
Over the winter, we will continue to use this feedback to shape our final design. We anticipate publishing the final design by early next year and then working to prepare a bid for construction.
